Former Big Brother participant, Alex Sibley, has successfully won a seat as a Reform councillor in the recent local elections. Transitioning from his reality TV background, the once familiar face secured victory in a London ward earlier today.
Competing under the Reform banner, Sibley claimed the Emerson Park seat in Havering, east London, with 1,255 votes, closely trailing fellow Reform candidate David Johnson who received 1,306 votes.
Having first gained prominence in series three of Big Brother in 2002, the now 47-year-old has undergone significant changes over the past 24 years and has aligned himself firmly with Nigel Farage’s platform.
In a recent social media post, Alex shared a photo alongside his running mate, David Johnson, both donning blue election rosettes. The caption read: “It’s Official. 7th May 2026. With a combined age of 126 years and lacking a political degree from Oxford or Cambridge, we represent Emerson Park in Havering for Reform UK.”
Facing opposition from candidates representing the Greens, Labour, and the Conservatives, Alex’s victory marked a significant milestone in his post-reality TV career.
Speaking in Havering, Farage expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his party in the local elections, emphasizing the transformative impact of Reform UK in British politics.
Following his time on Big Brother, Alex encountered unexpected twists in his professional journey. Despite a period of withdrawal from the limelight due to a car incident in 2004, which was later dismissed in 2006, Alex redirected his focus towards affordable housing initiatives. In 2020, he acknowledged the derailment of his television career following the unfortunate car accident.
Expressing aspirations to return to the entertainment industry, Alex reflected on his past accomplishments, including securing third place on Big Brother and obtaining lucrative television contracts.
A memorable moment during his time on Big Brother involved a playful exchange with fellow contestant Alison Hammond, which created buzz among viewers. Hammond’s antics led to a nomination for eviction by Alex, resulting in her eventual exit from the show by a narrow margin.
Reflecting on their time together, Hammond remarked on Alex’s meticulous nature, highlighting his attention to cleanliness and detail within the house.
