Bodies of Missing 84-Year-Old Man and 56-Year-Old Woman Found

Police have provided a sad update in the search for an 84-year-old man who went missing at a holiday park. Malcolm Hunt, aged 84, disappeared from the Weir Meadow Holiday Park in Lower Leyes, Evesham around midday on Sunday, February 22. Surveillance footage captured him crossing the road at Waterside in the Worcestershire town at approximately 8:40 pm.

West Mercia Police issued an urgent appeal alongside officers and Malcolm’s family expressing concern for his well-being. A recent statement from the police revealed the discovery of a body, as reported by BirminghamLive.

According to a police spokesperson, “Regrettably, a body was found earlier today (Wednesday, February 25) during the search for the missing 84-year-old man last seen at Weir Meadow Holiday Park in Evesham. Although formal identification is pending, the man’s family has been notified and is receiving support from officers. His passing is not deemed suspicious.”

In a separate development, authorities found a body in a UK river while searching for a missing woman. Nguyet Thi Nguyen, 56, from Thornaby, was reported missing to Cleveland Police after disappearing on February 13, prompting a search by emergency services. Tragically, 12 days later, a body was discovered in the water along a stretch of the River Tees, with the exact location yet to be disclosed by officials.

A police spokesperson’s statement indicated that while formal identification is pending, officers believe they have located the body of Nguyet Thi Nguyen. The death is not considered suspicious and has been referred to a coroner, as per TeesideLive. The statement conveyed, “Officers have sadly found a body in the River Tees during the search for missing 56-year-old Nguyet Thi Nguyen. Although formal identification is pending, officers believe it is Nguyet Thi Nguyen. Her death is not suspicious, and a coroner referral has been made. We appreciate the public for sharing the appeal and providing information.”
