“Boy, 7, Killed in Tragic A38 Road Accident”

Police in Staffordshire are appealing for witnesses following the tragic death of a seven-year-old boy in a road accident. The incident took place on the A38 in Swinfen, near Lichfield, around 5 am on Saturday when a car collided with the child.

The local authorities identified the boy, who passed away at the scene, and the vehicle involved as a blue Vauxhall Mokka. Specialized officers are providing support to the boy’s family as the investigation progresses.

Sergeant Chris Sweetmore from Staffordshire Constabulary urged anyone who saw individuals near the A38 at Swinfen around 5 am to come forward. Speculating on the circumstances is discouraged to respect the family and aid the investigation process.

Individuals with dashcam footage or relevant information are urged to contact 101, quoting incident 109 of March 7, or email ciustaffordshire.police.uk.

Swinfen, located just south of Lichfield, is a key junction off the A38 connecting Birmingham to the south and Derby to the northeast, serving as a main commuter route.

This incident follows a recent fatal collision on the A3 in Hindhead, Surrey, where two individuals lost their lives. The collision, involving a black Ford Fiesta and a grey Ford Fiesta, resulted in multiple injuries, including one fatality and serious injuries requiring hospitalization.
