Two British tourists were viciously attacked and left unconscious while on vacation in Spain. Authorities have apprehended two individuals in connection with the assault but are still on the lookout for others involved in the unprovoked incident that took place in Magaluf, situated on the island of Mallorca.
The victims, aged 30 and 31, were discovered unconscious near a nightclub on the bustling party strip. Further details about the injured tourists have not been disclosed by the police, including their gender.
The two suspects in custody are both 19 years old and have been charged with causing serious harm. The assault occurred in the early hours of Sunday when the suspects, accompanied by two other unidentified individuals, allegedly inflicted severe injuries on the British tourists, rendering them unconscious.
Following the assault, an investigation was launched by the Civil Guard to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. The suspects were located and arrested on Tuesday at a vacation residence in Calvià.
The arrested individuals are of Swiss nationality. Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest any other individuals involved in the attack.
Magaluf has been plagued by fights and antisocial behavior in recent years, although there has been some improvement in the resort’s reputation over the past two holiday seasons.
