A British woman, Charlotte Conradie, was found deceased on a luxury superyacht in a prestigious marina in Spain. Colleagues raised concerns when she did not respond to messages, prompting emergency services to respond to the scene. Despite efforts by paramedics, Charlotte could not be revived.
Authorities are currently investigating Charlotte’s death, with initial indications suggesting natural causes. Charlotte’s body underwent a post-mortem examination at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Palma. Originally from Zambia, Charlotte held a British passport and had been residing in Europe for some time.
Prior to her current role, Charlotte worked as a stewardess at SuperYachts International. Her social media posts showcased her love for two horses she referred to as her ‘babies’, while her relatives reside in South Africa.
The 29-year-old was working on the Lind, a custom-built motor yacht that commands a steep charter fee during peak seasons. This Cayman Islands-flagged vessel, designed by Tim Heywood, offers luxurious amenities including an open-air cinema, jacuzzi, gym, and inflatable trampolines.
The superyacht is reportedly owned by German billionaire Peter Alexander Wacker, who holds a significant stake in Wacker Chemie AG. Wacker, a former BMW employee, joined the family business in the 1990s, eventually amassing a substantial net worth.
Authorities have indicated that Charlotte’s death appears to be from natural causes, pending the final autopsy results. Her colleagues have cooperated with the investigation, as standard protocol.
