Brooke Henderson thrives under the intense scrutiny of competing in Canada’s LPGA tournament. The champion of the CPKC Women’s Open in both 2021 and 2018 has demonstrated that the added pressure of playing in her home country does not faze her.

The 28-year-old golfer from Smiths Falls, Ontario, is aiming to secure her third victory in the upcoming tournament at Edmonton’s Royal Mayfair Club. The prestigious $2.75 million US CPKC Women’s Open will feature top-tier talent, including six of the world’s top 10 golfers, with Henderson ranked at No. 11 among the top 25 players.
Henderson, the most successful Canadian golfer with 14 tour wins, achieved top-three finishes in the Women’s PGA Championship and the Evian Championship this year. Her recent strong performances have boosted her confidence, with Henderson expressing, “My game feels like it’s back to its peak from a couple of years ago. The momentum from the major events this summer has been a significant confidence boost, and I aim to carry that forward this week.”
Aside from her sporting achievements, Henderson’s personal life has seen positive developments, including becoming an aunt and getting engaged to Ricky Castro, a pitching prospect for the Minnesota Twins. As Henderson leads a group of 15 Canadians in the tournament alongside 156 professionals and amateurs at Edmonton’s Royal Mayfair Club, she is joined by young talent Anna Huang from Vancouver, who recently clinched her fourth Ladies European Tour victory.
The 2026 CPKC Women’s Open marks the 52nd edition of the tournament in Canada since its inception in 1973. The return to Edmonton and the Royal Mayfair Club holds special significance, as it was the venue for Lydia Ko’s historic back-to-back triumphs in 2012 and 2013. Now a three-time winner of the Canadian tournament, Ko aims to secure an unprecedented fourth victory.
Ko emphasized the tournament’s importance in her career, noting how past editions have played a crucial role in her success, including her Olympic gold medal win in Paris. The weather forecast for the tournament predicts a mix of sun and clouds, with potential showers on Saturday evening.
