“Buckingham Palace Supports Police in Prince Andrew Probe”

Date:

Buckingham Palace is actively cooperating with the police in relation to specific investigations regarding allegations of former Prince Andrew’s misconduct while in a public position.

Sources disclosed that Thames Valley Police (TVP) detectives have requested access to visitor logs at royal residences associated with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as part of their ongoing probe. Additionally, investigators have sought logs of Andrew’s Private Protection Officers (PPOs) to ascertain their duty schedules when safeguarding the former Duke of York between 2001 and 2010.

This development follows the police’s announcement of an expanded inquiry on Friday, encompassing allegations of sexual misconduct within the initial probe into potential public office misconduct. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, aged 66, served as the UK’s special representative for international trade and investment from 2001 to 2011, resigning amid controversies surrounding his relationship with the late financier and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

Despite denying any wrongdoing concerning his association with Epstein, Buckingham Palace is now actively supporting the police inquiries, as previously indicated in the King’s statement pledging cooperation when requested.

After Andrew’s arrest in February and subsequent lengthy questioning on suspicions of public office misconduct, King Charles expressed deep concern. The monarch emphasized the royal family’s full support for the investigating authorities, stating that the legal process must be followed.

Royal sources reiterated the King’s commitment to assisting any police investigations involving Mountbatten-Windsor. Last October, in light of the escalating Epstein scandal, the King stripped his disgraced brother of all titles and honors, and evicted him from his residence in Windsor.

Searches were conducted at Andrew’s former Royal Lodge in Windsor and his current residence, Marsh Farm, on the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Detectives are analyzing recovered evidence and have formally requested the original Epstein files from the United States Department of Justice.

TVP’s extensive investigation is anticipated to be prolonged, with challenges including determining Andrew’s public office status during the alleged incidents. Detectives have urged potential victims and witnesses to come forward to aid the investigation.

Virginia Giuffre, who accused Andrew of abuse in 2001, tragically passed away last April, after enduring trauma from Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s abuse. Despite the allegations, Andrew vehemently denies any misconduct.

Misconduct in a public office encompasses a range of behaviors, including financial impropriety and sexual misconduct. TVP detectives aim to clarify that the investigation extends beyond the sharing of information during Andrew’s tenure as a trade envoy.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the matter.
