Police have shared CCTV images of a man they wish to talk to following an alleged assault on a woman on the tube. The incident occurred while the woman was traveling solo on a Bakerloo Line train between Waterloo and Lambeth North around 11:40 pm on Saturday, July 11.
According to the British Transport Police, the man approached the woman, exposed himself, dragged her to the floor, and attempted to assault her. Despite the attack, the woman managed to fight back and escape at Lambeth North station, where she sought help from station staff.
The suspect remained on the tube after the incident and disembarked at Elephant and Castle Underground station. Detectives have released the CCTV images of the man to seek information that could aid their investigation, emphasizing that he has not been charged with any offense.
Authorities believe the man may have been present at Oxford Circus Underground station before the assault and at Piccadilly Circus Underground station afterward. Detective Sergeant Krishan Appannah urged the public to assist in identifying the man in the footage, suggesting he might be homeless. Individuals who can identify the man are urged to text his name to 61016 with reference 948 of July 11.
