Center Parcs has decided to discontinue a popular service at its holiday resorts, sparking disapproval from families. The holiday park chain announced the cessation of their crèche service for children aged between three months and three years.
Starting next month, visitors to Center Parcs will no longer have the option to pay approximately £30 for a three-hour crèche service for their young ones. A spokesperson for Center Parcs explained that the decision was made based on guest feedback and the limited demand for this specific service.
Although the crèche activity is being removed, Center Parcs is enhancing its range of activities for children of all ages to provide more engaging experiences for families. Customers planning to visit a Center Parc resort in the upcoming months were surprised to find out that crèche slots were no longer available for booking from June.
One concerned parent expressed disappointment on a Center Parcs Facebook page, sharing their plans for a child-free spa trip that now seemed uncertain due to the unavailable crèche service. Another visitor lamented the loss of the crèche, calling it a valuable resource from previous visits.
Prior to its closure, the crèche at Center Parcs catered to children aged 3 to 35 months, offering structured activities to aid in their development. The closure announcement comes amid the commencement of construction on a new Center Parcs site in the Scottish Borders, a £450 million project expected to create around 1,200 jobs.
The upcoming forest resort will feature diverse tree species and plant life, fostering a biodiverse environment teeming with wildlife. The development in the Scottish Borders will include 700 lodges and flats, a Subtropical Swimming Paradise, retail outlets, dining venues, and an Aqua Sana Forest Spa set within the woodland. Virtual tours and 3D renderings showcase the array of amenities lining the waterside.
