Chessington World of Adventures will soon welcome Minecraft World in 2027, a £50 million project by Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios. The theme park will bring the popular game to life, featuring iconic biomes, mobs, and items.
The location of the world’s first fully immersive Minecraft theme park land in the UK has been revealed. The Minecraft-themed attractions will include a thrilling coaster, interactive adventures, block-built playscapes, and themed retail and dining experiences.
Angela Jobson, SVP of global brand at Merlin Entertainments, expressed excitement about the project, emphasizing the creativity and fun Minecraft will offer at Chessington World of Adventures. The collaboration with Mojang Studios aims to provide an authentic experience for Minecraft fans.
While details about the rides remain scarce, the park assures they will be unmistakably Minecraft-themed. The former Wild Asia area is being transformed into the Minecraft zone.
Torfi Frans Ólafsson, senior creative director of Entertainment at Minecraft, highlighted the significance of Minecraft World in expanding the Minecraft universe. The partnership with Merlin Entertainments aims to create an immersive and authentic experience for fans.
Chessington, just a 35-minute train ride from London Waterloo, invites fans to stay updated on the project through their website and social media channels. In the meantime, visitors can look forward to the new World of PAW Patrol opening in spring 2026, featuring various themed rides and attractions for kids.
