A young boy tragically lost his life during the recent heatwaves but left a lasting impact on those who knew him. Mackenzie Swift, fondly remembered by his family as someone who effortlessly brought smiles to people’s faces, will forever remain 11 years old in their hearts.
His father, Edward Morrison, expressed the deep sorrow felt by the community at Mackenzie’s passing, emphasizing the profound loss of a child at such a young age. The tragic incident occurred when Kenzie, as he was known, went to the River Don with a friend on a scorching day and entered the water to cool off, despite not being able to swim. During his funeral, classmates paid tribute to Mackenzie by wearing yellow, his favorite color, as his coffin arrived at the church. The words ‘Forever 11’ were prominently displayed on his coffin, symbolizing his eternal youth. His final journey was marked by a procession of vehicles, including supercars and motorbikes, reflecting the love and support from the community.
