“Company Surprises Employees with £20 Million Cash Bonus”

Date:

In a remarkable display of generosity, a staggering £20 million in cash was distributed to fortunate employees at a company event marking the end of the year.

Staff members of a company located in China, Henan Kuangshan Crane, were surprised with millions of cash spread out over 800 banquet tables, allowing them to take home as much money as they could carry. The extravagant annual party held on February 13th was attended by approximately 7,000 individuals, as seen in a video capturing the employees’ delight as they gazed at the tables filled with money under vibrant lights.

Reportedly, one employee managed to seize and bring home an impressive $13,000 (£9,600) in cash, as disclosed by the Korean newspaper Chosun Daily.

During the event, the company’s owner, Cui Peijun, addressed the excited crowd, mentioning that while expensive gifts were previously given to employees, this year he opted for a unique approach.

Peijun expressed, “Instead of traditional gifts like washing machines or jewelry, this year we are distributing cash. In previous years, we gifted necklaces and rings, but this time, we are giving out additional 20,000 yuan ($2,800) in cash to each employee.”

Explaining his rationale for not transferring bonuses directly to accounts, Peijun stated, “Rather than cold numbers, we wanted to create a more personal and engaging experience for our employees by offering cash in hand.”

Peijun, who holds a 98.88% stake in the crane company, which operates globally in over 130 countries, is known for his generosity towards employees following successful business years. In 2024, Henan Kuangshan Crane recorded a net profit of approximately £28 million, of which $17 million was distributed among the workers.

In a similar fashion, the crane company awarded £6.3 million to the top 40 performing employees in 2023, with the three highest salespeople each receiving bonuses exceeding £550,000.

Beyond monetary bonuses at year-end, Peijun has also supported his female employees on occasions like International Women’s Day, distributing around £170,000 to approximately 2,000 women in the company last March.

Moreover, Peijun extends his generosity beyond the company, as exemplified by his philanthropic gesture in 2022 when he allocated nearly £3.5 million to 4,000 university students from disadvantaged backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of education and breaking the cycle of poverty.
