Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, known as Little Saint James, was described as a tropical paradise but, according to his accusers, hid dark secrets of exploitation and abuse. The 75-acre compound in the US Virgin Islands was ominously dubbed “Paedophile Island” due to allegations of Epstein’s involvement in exploiting and assaulting minors.
Epstein, a billionaire who passed away in 2019, faced accusations of trafficking and abusing young individuals on the island, which he purchased in 1998 for $7.95 million. The secluded property, accessible only by private plane or boat, boasted luxurious amenities including a stone manor, guest lodges, a swimming pool, temple, helipad, and commanding views of the clear waters.
While Epstein resided on the island, it was staffed with numerous employees and became a gathering place for affluent and influential guests. However, local reports suggested a darker side to the island, with allegations of illicit activities such as child exploitation, human trafficking, and orgies.
Despite being a registered sex offender, Epstein continued to bring underage girls to the island before his arrest in July 2019. He had previously served time for soliciting prostitution from a minor in Florida in 2008.
Following Epstein’s passing, the FBI conducted searches on the island, which is now valued at over £45 million. Victims like Sarah Ransome and Chauntae Davies have come forward with harrowing accounts of abuse they endured at the hands of Epstein and his associates, leading to legal actions and settlements.
Airline personnel in the US Virgin Islands recounted witnessing Epstein with young girls who appeared to be minors, raising concerns about his activities. Ghislaine Maxwell, who assisted Epstein in his crimes, is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking after being moved to a federal prison in Texas.
