“Denmark Tops List as Preferred Destination for Gen Z Expats”

Date:

A significant portion, 39%, of Gen Z and Millennials expressed intentions to reside or work overseas last year, with one particular European country standing out as the top choice for younger expatriates. Denmark, a Scandinavian nation, ranked first with a score of 7.88 out of ten in categories such as affordability, healthcare, and internet speed, making it an ideal relocation destination. Notably, Denmark’s policies, including the 11th hour rule ensuring employees have a minimum of 11 hours of rest within 24, contribute to a high standard of living for its inhabitants.

According to research conducted by international health insurance experts at William Russell, factors like environmental performance and LGBT+ equality were also considered in identifying Denmark as the preferred relocation spot for Gen Z individuals. Apart from its practical advantages, Denmark boasts stunning natural landscapes, including untouched dunes, forests, seaside villages, and iconic landmarks like the white cliffs of Møn. The country’s 70 inhabited islands offer diverse and scenic views, complemented by attractions like Jaegersborg Deer Park, housing around 2,000 deer.

Denmark also features the second longest bridge in Europe, connecting to Sweden, and the vibrant capital city of Copenhagen, known for its blend of modern architecture, culture, and sustainable living practices. For those exploring other options, countries like Iceland and the Netherlands also ranked high in safety and healthcare quality, respectively, offering appealing prospects for potential expats. The top 10 relocation choices for Gen Z Brits predominantly leaned towards European destinations, with Canada being the only outlier.
