Desperate Search Continues for Missing Baby

Date:

A search is ongoing for a missing baby, as authorities have serious concerns following the discovery of a mother and toddler’s bodies in the sea. The incident unfolded at a beach in South Australia when a car, still running, was found west of Port MacDonnell. The police and state emergency service were alerted to the scene on Monday morning. The search for the infant will resume in the coastal waters of the small town the next day.

Superintendent Trent Cox mentioned that the baby was last seen with the mother earlier in the day but it is uncertain if the baby was still with her when the vehicle was abandoned. Cox expressed that the situation is worrisome as the child is less than one year old, raising doubts about the baby’s chances of survival, especially in water.

The search for the missing child had to be halted due to hazardous conditions on Monday night. Authorities plan to continue the search the following day despite challenging weather conditions. Cox emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of all involved, including emergency services and volunteers assisting in the search efforts.

The police have shared an image of the car belonging to the woman and urged anyone who may have seen a white Isuzu MU-X with South Australian registration S592 BJR in specific areas on the day of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
