Newly disclosed documents related to the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein have unveiled the presence of prominent figures in US politics. Among them is Peter Thiel, a billionaire known for his right-wing activism and influential role in the political ascent of JD Vance. Thiel, co-founder of PayPal in the 1990s and current head of the controversial spy tech company Palantir, was identified in records indicating a lunch meeting with Epstein in November 2017.
Additional tech and political associates of Donald Trump, including Elon Musk and Steve Bannon, were also highlighted in the released files. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1967, Thiel immigrated to the US at a young age, later becoming a US citizen and pursuing a philosophy degree at Stanford University. His conservative leanings were evident during his college years, co-founding the Stanford Review, a publication advocating conservative and libertarian views.
A registered Republican, Thiel, married to Matt Danzeisen since 2017, boasts a staggering net worth of $26.1 billion. A pioneer in the tech industry, Thiel’s early success with PayPal led to his involvement in various tech and venture capital enterprises, including Palantir and an initial investment in Facebook. Notably, he actively supports far-right politics and has expressed skepticism toward democracy, aligning himself early on with Trump.
Thiel’s support for Trump extended to serving on the President’s executive committee following Trump’s 2016 election victory. He has since made substantial contributions to the Republican party, becoming one of the largest donors by 2022. Instrumental in JD Vance’s political rise, Thiel mentored Vance, offering significant support during his Senate campaign, including a record-breaking $15 million donation.
Beyond his political engagements, Thiel is known for his interest in anti-aging pursuits. He has openly discussed taking human growth hormone pills to combat aging effects and follows a paleo diet, emphasizing natural foods and investing in anti-aging research. Amid ongoing scrutiny over Trump’s connections to Epstein, Thiel and other allies of the former President have been implicated in the latest document disclosures by Democratic officials.
Notably, Epstein’s calendar indicated a scheduled lunch with Thiel in November 2017, alongside planned engagements with Steve Bannon and Elon Musk. While the documents reference a tentative trip by Musk to Epstein’s island in 2014, the actual occurrences of these meetings remain unconfirmed.
