Two high school students were fatally shot at a bus stop, and the perpetrator is currently on the run.
The incident occurred just before 4pm on Friday, January 30, prompting a police response to a shooting near Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street in Seattle. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the two teenagers with fatal gunshot wounds.
Efforts were made to administer emergency medical aid to the victims until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and confirmed their deaths at the scene.
Seattle Police Department released a statement indicating ongoing investigations into the double homicide in South Seattle. The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot before authorities could apprehend them, despite extensive search efforts.
The area was secured by police as homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit conducted their examination. The King County Medical Examiner (KCME) will handle the deceased individuals and identify them in due course.
