“Drone Sighting Halts Munich Airport Operations Temporarily”

Date:

Munich Airport in Europe was forced to shut down temporarily due to a suspected drone sighting near its runways. All flights were grounded, and operations on both runways came to a halt as Federal Police responded to the potential unauthorized flying object sighting.

The closure occurred at around 9am when reports of a “suspicious observation” led to the airport’s complete standstill. However, by 10.05am, authorities gave the all-clear after finding no concerning items during the search. Passengers were informed of the sudden closure through announcements, and it was reported that flights were set to resume.

During the closure, police officers and a helicopter were deployed to search the airport premises for any clues related to the suspected drone. While the incident caused a temporary suspension of all flights, the situation was resolved with no further disruptions reported. Munich’s Federal Police spokesman mentioned that pilots had made the initial observation around 9am, prompting the investigation into the potential drone presence near the airport.

Overall, the airport reopened after the brief disruption caused by the drone scare, allowing operations to return to normal.
