The Duchess of Cambridge was the center of attention at the royal Easter celebrations, opting to recycle an outfit instead of debuting a new one. After missing the Easter Sunday service for the past two years, Kate, accompanied by Prince William and their three children, led the royal family at the event held at Windsor Castle.
Last year, the couple was absent from the service as they spent time with their children in Norfolk, and in 2024, they were not present due to Kate undergoing preventative chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis. This year, Kate donned an oatmeal-colored dress from Self Portrait, adorned with distinctive pineapple symbols, as she walked to St George’s Chapel with William and their children.
The dress, previously worn by Kate during a visit to the Royal College of Midwives and Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2022, sparked speculation about the symbolic meaning of the pineapples, which are associated with hope for those facing infertility challenges. Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Edward, James, Viscount Severn, Peter Phillips, and his fiancée Harriet Sperling were also part of the royal group.
Harriet’s presence marked her first appearance at a formal family event, accompanied by her daughter Georgina alongside Peter’s daughters Savannah and Isla. Prince Charles and Camilla arrived in style, with Camilla wearing a red wool dress and coat by Fiona Clare, a hat by Phillip Treacy, and a brooch that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.
Inside the chapel, the royal family gathered for the service, with playful interactions like the King tapping his grandson Louis on the shoulder. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were notably absent, having made alternative plans with the King’s approval. The sisters, who retain their titles as princesses, joined the royal family for Christmas at Sandringham in December and are expected to participate in future family events.
The former Duke of York, who was accompanied by his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson at last year’s Easter service, has faced consequences for his association with Jeffrey Epstein, leading to a loss of his prince title and Dukedom. Beatrice and Eugenie, as the King’s nieces, continue to hold their princess titles and remain integrated into royal family gatherings.
