Dynamic Duo Dedicated to Combatting Animal Cruelty

Date:

Jan Creamer and her husband Tim Phillips, residing in a serene suburban setting, may seem like a typical retired couple. However, their true identity reveals a dynamic duo with a nearly five-decade dedication to uncovering and combating animal cruelty worldwide. Through their organization, Animal Defenders International (ADI), Jan and Tim have been instrumental in rescuing large cats, conducting undercover operations in circuses, and exposing illicit and inhumane practices.

Despite being in their 70s, Jan and Tim show no signs of slowing down in their mission to protect animals. Their relentless efforts have led to the dismantling of illegal animal trafficking networks, the prohibition of fur farming, and the elimination of animal experiments and circuses in numerous countries.

Jan’s passion for animal welfare was ignited in 1975 when she learned about beagles being forced to smoke in a research program. This revelation prompted her to abandon her career in architectural design and commit herself fully to advocating for animal rights. Together with Tim, she has spearheaded groundbreaking investigations using covert techniques to gather evidence of animal mistreatment.

Their unwavering dedication has resulted in significant victories, such as the exposure of circus cruelty that led to the prosecution of individuals involved in abusing animals. Their work has not only saved countless animals but has also driven legislative changes to protect animal welfare globally.

Despite facing risks and challenges, Jan and Tim continue their mission, foregoing traditional milestones like parenthood to focus on their cause. Their commitment remains steadfast, with plans to extend their efforts to Guatemala to rescue mistreated tigers from circuses.

In a world filled with uncertainty, Jan emphasizes the importance of caring for animals as integral parts of the ecosystem. She stresses the need for global awareness and compassion towards animals, highlighting their emotional capacity and social interactions. Despite their age, Jan and Tim remain resolute in their resolve to advocate for animal rights, with no plans of retiring anytime soon.
