The tragic incident occurred when Julie Pacey, a mother of two and part-time child carer, was found dead in her home in Grantham, Lincolnshire. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled with a cord in what seemed like a planned attack, shocking the local community.
Julie’s husband, Andrew Pacey, described her as a kind and caring person who cherished her family. The suspected killer, “Overalls Man,” was spotted multiple times in the neighborhood before the murder, including by a schoolgirl who encountered him near the Pacey residence.
Investigators learned that the suspect had been inquiring about directions in the area, and a blue BMW was seen at the Pacey home on the day of the murder. Despite creating a DNA profile of the killer, no matches were found in the national database, leading authorities to seek public assistance in solving the case.
Detective Inspector Helen Evans emphasized the importance of the DNA profile in potentially identifying Julie’s murderer, urging anyone with information to come forward.
