Newly released documents reveal that Jeffrey Epstein once told one of Donald Trump’s key advisers that the President “wakes up sweating” over their association. The US Justice Department released three million documents under an order signed by Trump, shedding light on conversations between Epstein and his associates. Trump, who had a prior friendship with Epstein, was mentioned multiple times in these exchanges.
One of the mentions involved Epstein speaking to Steve Bannon, Trump’s former 2016 campaign CEO and later chief White House strategist. The documents show a series of friendly texts exchanged between Epstein and Bannon in the months leading up to Epstein’s death in 2019. Their discussions covered topics like politics, travel, and a documentary Bannon was reportedly planning to improve Epstein’s reputation.
In one exchange, Epstein remarked to Bannon that Trump gets anxious upon hearing about their friendship. Bannon responded with a brief comment indicating the potential risks involved. Another exchange from 2018 focused on Trump’s intentions to remove Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
Epstein also corresponded with Kathy Ruemmler, a lawyer and former Obama White House official, expressing conflicting views on Trump in his emails. Despite Trump’s presence in the documents, there is no implication of misconduct on his part regarding Epstein. Trump responded to the document release by claiming exoneration and threatening legal action against Epstein’s estate and a perceived adversary, Michael Wolff, whom he accused of conspiring against him.
During a flight to Florida, Trump alleged a conspiracy between Epstein and Wolff to harm him politically, hinting at potential lawsuits against them. He emphasized that the emails vindicated him, contradicting the expectations of his critics. Trump asserted that influential individuals had assured him of the documents’ exoneration, dismissing any negative interpretations from the radical left.
