“European Flights Disrupted: Passengers Stranded Amid Aviation Turmoil”

Date:

Flights to popular European destinations have experienced disruptions, resulting in stranded passengers just before the summer vacation season. Major aviation disturbances were observed in Italy, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK, causing the cancellation of 63 flights and the rescheduling of 1,755 flights.

The exact cause of the disruptions in Europe remains unclear, but airlines worldwide have expressed concerns regarding escalating jet fuel costs and supply issues. The global jet fuel supply has been impacted by the US-Iran conflict, initiated by joint strikes conducted by the US and Israel on key Iranian sites. In response, Iran targeted various locations across the Middle East and closed the vital Strait of Hormuz trade route, through which 20% of the world’s oil trade flows. This disruption has led to a constriction in global oil supply, affecting air travel.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport faced the most significant impact, reporting a high number of delayed flights, with 313 flights experiencing delays and 13 cancellations, leaving passengers in limbo.

Among the affected airlines, Air France saw the highest number of delays, with 117 delayed flights and 17 cancellations. Other major carriers such as United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Eurowings, Condor, Air Dolomiti, Transavia Airlines, and Norwegian Air Sweden also encountered disruptions, as reported by Travel and Tour World.
