Meghan Markle has unveiled two precious unseen images of Princess Lilibet on the occasion of her fifth birthday today. The heartwarming photos, shared on the Duchess of Sussex’s social media platform, capture Prince Harry tenderly holding their daughter while Meghan gazes at them affectionately. In one photo, Lilibet is dressed in a white lace outfit, her long hair cascading over her face, with bare feet peeking out. The second snapshot shows the young princess in their garden, touching a purple flower with her feet on the grass.
Accompanying the adorable family pictures, Meghan wrote, “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili,” along with a heart emoji. Lilibet, affectionately known as Lili, is the youngest daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan, born on June 4, 2021, in California. Her name, Lilibet Diana, honors her great-grandmother, the late Queen, and her grandmother, Princess Diana.
Seventh in line to the throne, Lili has resided in the UK only once, unlike her older brother Archie. She gained her princess title when her grandfather, the King, ascended the throne, following protocols established by King George V in 1917. After Lili’s christening in 2023, Harry and Meghan began using the prince and princess titles for both Archie and Lili, following discussions with Charles on the matter. The young princess, who bears a resemblance to her father with her red hair, met her grandfather, the King, during a visit to the UK in 2022.
During the visit, coinciding with the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Lili celebrated her first birthday with a party at their former residence, Frogmore Cottage. Royal expert Duncan Larcombe highlighted Lilibet’s birthday as underscoring the strained relationship between the King and his youngest son, Harry. Larcombe mentioned Charles’s regrets over the situation and his joy in being a grandparent.
Last year, Harry and Meghan commemorated Lilibet’s birthday by sharing a series of photos capturing the young princess with her parents as a baby. Meghan also posted a video of herself and Harry dancing and twerking to the song ‘Baby Mamma’ in a hospital to encourage Lilibet’s birth as the Duchess was past her due date.
