“Fake Baby Scam Mastermind Pulls out of Documentary”

Date:

Kira Cousins, the individual behind the fake baby scam, has shocked many with her recent announcement regarding an upcoming television documentary that delves into the scandal that captured global attention.

Last year, it came to light that the 22-year-old, hailing from Airdrie, deceived her close circle by pretending to have given birth to a baby named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce. She utilized a lifelike artificial baby bump for an extended period before her family discovered that the “baby” was actually a realistic Reborn doll hidden in her room.

Subsequently, it was disclosed that the young woman, employed at a supermarket, had inked an exclusive deal with Soho Studios Entertainment and Two Rivers Media in Glasgow to transform her hoax into a documentary. However, in a surprising turn of events, Kira has opted to withdraw from the project aimed at presenting her perspective on the matter.

In an official statement shared on her Instagram account, Kira expressed her decision to step back from the documentary after deliberations with the producers, deeming it the most appropriate course of action for all parties involved. While she contemplates sharing her story in the future, she currently feels it is not the right time. Kira acknowledged the confusion and distress her actions may have caused and privately apologized to those directly impacted as well as extended an online apology to others affected.

A spokesperson representing both production companies confirmed the collaboration’s termination, emphasizing that Kira has chosen not to proceed with narrating her experiences. They emphasized their support for Kira’s decision and highlighted their commitment to the well-being of their contributors.

The announcement made by Kira was accompanied by an AI warning online, hinting at the statement’s generative nature. A close family friend of Kira, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed dissatisfaction at the prospect of Kira profiting from the scandal, emphasizing the emotional toll it had taken on those closest to her.

The intricate web of deceit spun by Kira involved fabricated scans, videos of a gender reveal celebration, and images of gifts purchased by loved ones for her ‘baby,’ including high-value items like a £1,000 pram and car seat. She even shared what appeared to be computer-generated footage of the ‘baby’ moving in her stomach.

Additionally, Kira fabricated hospital appointments, claimed her ‘baby’ had a heart defect based on fictitious ante-natal tests, and showcased the lifelike Reborn dolls, which can range from £30 to £2,000 and possess features like crying sounds and simulated wet nappies. The situation escalated as Kira informed the man she identified as Bonnie-Leigh’s father of their baby’s fictitious demise through text messages.
