Three members of a single family have tragically lost their lives in what authorities have described as a “horrific” and “extremely bloody” incident at a residence in southwestern Sydney.
Emergency services responded to a property on Juliet Close in Rosemeadow just after 1:30 am on Sunday following reports of a violent episode. Upon arrival, police discovered a couple in their 60s and two of their sons who had been assaulted at the location.
Superintendent Grant Healey of Campbelltown Command mentioned that officers first attended to a 65-year-old woman requiring immediate aid. Inside the house, they found a 64-year-old man with severe head injuries but still alive. Another male was found deceased in a separate structure on the property, believed to be the couple’s 25-year-old son.
The couple’s second son, aged 30, managed to contact emergency services after being attacked. He was treated at Liverpool Hospital and discharged later the same morning. Approximately an hour after the incident was reported, a 32-year-old man was arrested by the police.
Superintendent Healey stated that it was too early to confirm pending charges, emphasizing the shocking and unforeseeable nature of the tragedy. Investigators suspect that more than one weapon, possibly including a bladed instrument and a hammer, was used in the assault.
Neighbours described the family as reserved and quiet. One resident recalled being awakened around 1:30 am by noises resembling a car pursuit, followed by the arrival of emergency vehicles and the return of a silver Subaru to the neighborhood.
