A tragic incident occurred on the M62 motorway in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, resulting in a fatal crash. The accident took place late on Saturday night when a grey Nissan Juke collided with a grey BMW X5 between Junction 21 and 22 on the eastbound side of the motorway. Sadly, a woman in her 50s lost her life in the collision.
According to Greater Manchester Police, the Nissan driver was traveling in the wrong direction on the carriageway when the collision with the BMW occurred. While the woman sustained severe injuries, the occupants of the BMW suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. No arrests have been made yet, but an investigation has been initiated.
Authorities from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are seeking assistance from the public. They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses dashcam or CCTV footage from the area leading up to the crash to come forward with information.
