“Father of Teen Killer Arraigned in Court for Weapons Charges”

Date:

The father of Henry Nowak’s murderer shielded his face with a notepad upon his arrival at court to face weapons charges. Moga Singh, aged 52, stood before the court with his sons Gurpreet Digwa, 27, and Vickrum Digwa, 23, accused of possessing offensive weapons privately. The alleged arsenal includes a flick knife, an extendable baton, knuckledusters, a machete, swords, and kusaris.

Gurpreet Digwa also faces additional charges, including possession of offensive weapons in a public place, a prohibited air rifle, an axe, and a kirpan (a ceremonial knife). This legal action follows Vickrum Digwa’s recent sentencing to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 21 years, for fatally stabbing 18-year-old Henry Nowak in Southampton last year.

During the court session at Southampton Magistrates Court, prosecutor Natalie Angel requested more time to review the charges against the defendants, citing the recovery of multiple weapons in the case. Defense lawyer Harmail Gill sought a four-week adjournment to allow both sides to assess the charges thoroughly before the next hearing.

Magistrates chair Jennifer Pitt granted the adjournment until July 9, releasing Moga Singh and Gurpreet Digwa on unconditional bail until then, while Vickrum Digwa remained on technical bail due to his incarceration. Pitt stressed the importance of justice in examining the charges before the next court date.

Addressing Moga Singh and Gurpreet Digwa, Pitt instructed them to be present at 1:30 pm for the next hearing, while allowing Vickrum Digwa to participate via videolink from prison. The weapons offenses in question occurred between December 4, 2025, and the day following Henry’s tragic death.
