“Finland Named One of Lonely Planet’s Top 2026 Destinations”

Date:

Finland, a Nordic nation with a population of 5.6 million, has been named one of Lonely Planet’s 25 Best Destinations for 2026. It is the only European country on the list, sharing the spotlight with regions in Italy and Ireland. Finland has continuously been recognized as the world’s happiest nation for the past eight years, according to the World Happiness Report 2025.

The key to Finland’s happiness lies in its culture of trust and connection. Finnish youngsters attend woodland schools, where they are encouraged to explore and learn through hands-on experiences. This trust extends to national service participation, with a high rate of conscripts fulfilling their duty each year.

Finland’s stunning natural landscapes, including its thousands of lakes and vast woodlands, contribute to its allure as a tourist destination. The country’s sparse population, with only 17 residents per square kilometer, offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy its beauty without crowds.

For those seeking a peaceful getaway, Mongolia presents a similar appeal. With a population of just 3.5 million spread across its vast territory, Mongolia is known for its tranquility and untouched landscapes. About half of the population resides in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, leaving much of the country untouched and serene.
