“Former Boxer Ricky Hatton’s Car Intentionally Torched”

Date:

A vehicle linked to the deceased Ricky Hatton was intentionally set on fire outside his son Campbell’s residence in what authorities are calling a targeted incident. The occurrence, which also involved shattering a front window, prompted a prompt response from police and fire departments in Hattersley, Hyde.

Law enforcement officials collected evidence from the scorched driveway of the property and the surrounding area littered with remnants of the blaze. Campbell Hatton, in a social media post, disclosed that the car belonged to his late father, the former boxing world champion, who passed away at the age of 46 last September.

In his post, Campbell expressed dismay over the destruction of the vehicle, which held sentimental value as one of the few remaining possessions of his father. Greater Manchester Police received reports of the fire at approximately 11:45 pm on Monday and continued their investigation into the incident throughout the following day, with no arrests made as of yet.

A police spokesperson stated that the incident is believed to be a targeted attack and does not pose a broader risk to the public. The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in the ongoing inquiry. Additionally, fire and rescue services were summoned the next day due to a reported gas leak, which was promptly addressed without any reported injuries.

Individuals with pertinent information are encouraged to reach out to the police via designated channels, providing the log number for reference. The authorities have also highlighted the option of contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously for those willing to contribute information discreetly.
