Frankie Dettori concluded his illustrious career on a high note by triumphing in Brazil’s Triple Crown opener. Initially planning to retire at Ascot’s Champions Day in October 2023, Dettori chose to extend his racing journey in the United States before ultimately announcing his retirement last November. His final races included a successful outing at the Breeders’ Cup in Del Mar, followed by a farewell tour in South America culminating at Rio de Janeiro’s Gavea racecourse.

During his last appearance, the 55-year-old jockey clinched victories aboard Speak Alpha and Bet You Can in Brazil’s prestigious 2,000 Guineas, the Grande Premio Estado do Rio De Janeiro. The win allowed Dettori to showcase his signature flying dismount celebration one last time.
