Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, with multiple paramedic units and an ambulance rescue helicopter dispatched to assist. Among the injured were two children under the age of five, with one man in his 30s airlifted to Wollongong Hospital for facial injuries, currently in stable condition.
Three other injured individuals, including a woman in her 30s and two children under five, were taken to Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital for treatment. The woman is being treated for abdominal injuries and is also in a stable condition, while the children are receiving care for minor injuries.
Footage shared online depicted significant damage, showcasing a destroyed barbecue area with debris scattered in the vicinity. An eyewitness described the explosion as a sudden and intense event, noting that a family preparing breakfast on the barbecues was affected.
