“Grandfather Revives Wife on Highway, Advocates for CPR Awareness”

Date:

A grandfather successfully revived his wife on the side of a busy highway after she experienced a medical emergency in their car. Paul Cutler and his wife, Suzanne, were on their way home when he noticed Suzanne was unresponsive. Paul quickly stopped the car on the M56 near Manchester, pulled Suzanne out, and began administering CPR.

Their daughter, Annie, who was also in the car, called emergency services for help. Paul, a Dartford councilor, shared how intense the situation was, with passing traffic and an air ambulance landing nearby. Fortunately, paramedics arrived and used a defibrillator to revive Suzanne, who had suffered a cardiac arrest.

After being stabilized at a hospital, Suzanne was eventually discharged after spending 25 days under medical care. Paul, who remained by her side throughout, emphasized the importance of timely CPR and access to life-saving equipment like defibrillators in schools and communities.

Paul, a former mayor of Dartford, highlighted the need for widespread awareness of CPR and the presence of defibrillators in public places. He has been advocating for better access to life-saving resources, aiming to educate more people on how to respond in emergencies. Suzanne’s health journey, from battling cancer to surviving a cardiac arrest, has reinforced their commitment to spreading awareness about the importance of timely intervention and proper medical equipment.
