Interpol has identified Anastasiia Berezovska, a 39-year-old woman from Ukraine, as the prime suspect in the recent parcel bombing in Monaco that injured Vadim Ermolaev and two others. Berezovska, who is no longer in Monaco, has an arrest warrant issued against her. Interpol’s red notice describes her as having a tattoo, possibly of a snake, on her right arm and speaks German. Authorities in Monaco are seeking her arrest for attempted murder and other charges.
According to a source close to the investigation, a witness identified Berezovska as the main suspect, cautioning that she is armed, dangerous, and possibly with accomplices. The explosive incident occurred at an apartment building in Monaco on Monday evening, targeting a specific family. Vadim Ermolaev, a construction magnate, was among the injured, along with a woman and a child. Ermolaev’s partner suffered severe injuries, losing both legs and is in critical condition.
The investigation revealed that Ermolaev, subject to Ukrainian sanctions since December 2023, renounced his Ukrainian citizenship in 2019 to obtain Cypriot nationality. He moved to Monaco after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Ermolaev, a wealthy real estate entrepreneur, founded Alef Estate in 2001 and was known for significant developments in Ukraine’s Dnipro region.
Monaco authorities have classified the explosion as an attempted assassination and are collaborating with French counterparts in the ongoing probe. Efforts to analyze the explosive device and identify the perpetrator are underway. The child injured in the incident has been interviewed in France, while the other victims remain unfit for questioning.
