Italian Man Stabs Sister Over Music: Tragic Death

Date:

An Italian man is accused of throwing a knife at his sister following a dispute over loud music, leading to her tragic death after being driven to a hospital by the perpetrator. Giuseppe Musella, 28, is facing charges of aggravated voluntary manslaughter in relation to the incident that occurred on February 3 in Naples, southern Italy. According to authorities, Musella allegedly stabbed his sister during an altercation and then took her to a nearby hospital where she passed away shortly thereafter.

Law enforcement officials disclosed that Musella later surrendered and reportedly admitted to the crime, providing a detailed account of what transpired. Reports from local media suggest that the siblings engaged in a heated argument over the volume of music, which escalated into physical altercations. During the confrontation, Musella purportedly threw a knife, striking his sister in the back.

In statements to investigators, the young man claimed, “We argued because she wouldn’t let me sleep, I threw the knife while her back was turned but I didn’t think I would hit her.” Additional reports indicate that Musella may have been upset because his sister allegedly mistreated his dog during the altercation. Police initiated a search for Musella after identifying his vehicle on hospital security footage.

Subsequently, Musella turned himself in to authorities. Reports do not confirm whether he has entered a plea. Allegedly, Musella expressed to the police, “My life ended with my sister’s. I don’t want a lawyer, I want to go to jail. I just hope the judge gives me the maximum sentence.”

Father Maurizio Patriciello, a local parish priest, conveyed, “She was stabbed by her brother because she was making noise, perhaps listening to music, and her brother wanted to sleep. So, he stabbed her in the back, and then dumped her outside the hospital.” The siblings resided together in Ponticelli, Naples, a neighborhood known for illegal activities and organized crime.

Jlenia had returned home after a weekend away with friends, where she had attended a DJ event. Upon her return, she was reportedly physically assaulted before being stabbed. Police believe that Musella transported her to the emergency department at Villa Betania Hospital and abandoned her there before turning himself in.

Following the issuance of an arrest warrant for voluntary homicide, Giuseppe was apprehended and is presently held at Naples’ Secondigliano prison.
