A 28-year-old woman was discovered deceased in her shower following a suspected electric shock that may have been caused by a malfunctioning heater.
Solange Samantha Rizzetto, who had just completed her work shift, returned to her residence in Novellara, situated in the province of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, prior to entering the shower. In the early hours of October 27, her lifeless body was found by her grandmother on the bathroom floor.
Upon arrival, emergency responders initiated an inquiry, with sources indicating that investigators are concentrating on a small heater near the shower. It was reported that the woman’s body obstructed the drain, resulting in minor flooding within the bathroom.
Although it is suspected that she might have been electrocuted, a postmortem examination has been ordered by prosecutors to ascertain the exact cause of death and to determine if she experienced a sudden medical emergency prior to the tragic incident. Technical specialists are examining both the heater and the property’s entire electrical system to assess for potential faults or compliance with safety regulations.
Family members mentioned that the heater was turned off at the time, raising the possibility of a short circuit or a sudden medical episode leading to her collapse. Her grandmother reportedly experienced a mild electric shock while attempting to halt the flowing water.
The farmhouse, acquired years earlier by Solange’s father, is under scrutiny to confirm the presence of a circuit breaker designed to deactivate power during electrical malfunctions. Originally from Havana, Cuba, Solange relocated to Italy at a young age.
She was employed as a waitress at her brother-in-law’s restaurant and had returned home after her work shift before the unfortunate incident occurred. Acquaintances characterized her as cheerful, kind, and always willing to assist others. Speaking to local newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, Solange’s friends conveyed their fond memories of her and expressed disbelief at her sudden passing.
Close family members, including her father Roberto, mother, brother Marsel, sister Claudia, and grandmother are grieving her loss. Roberto described his daughter as a remarkable individual and emphasized the profound impact of her absence on their family.
