“Japanese Woman Keeps Daughter’s Body in Freezer for 20 Years”

Date:

An elderly woman in Japan was discovered to have kept her daughter’s body in a freezer at their family home for two decades. Keiko Mori, a 75-year-old resident of Ibaraki Prefecture near Tokyo, turned herself in to the police on Tuesday, September 23, with a family member. The police report stated that she had been living alone since her husband’s recent death and confessed to preserving her daughter’s body in the freezer.

Upon investigation at her residence in Tokyo, authorities uncovered the shocking truth Mori had concealed for years. They found a woman’s decomposed body in the freezer, dressed only in a T-shirt and underwear. The police indicated that an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death many years ago. The elderly woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of abandoning a body.

Mori explained to investigators that the strong odor of her daughter’s corpse permeated the house, leading her to purchase the freezer to store the body. She did not disclose details about her daughter’s death or her possible involvement. It was revealed that Mori had other children besides her deceased daughter, although the exact number was not disclosed.
