“Jewish Community Alarmed by Escalating Anti-Semitic Attacks”

Date:

A senior figure in the Jewish community expressed deep concerns about the ongoing fear and lack of surprise following the recent Golders Green attack. Raphi Bloom, a board member of the Jewish Representative Council, highlighted the need for addressing the root causes of anti-semitism despite the government’s efforts in providing extra security funding. The recent torching of four ambulances served as a stark reminder of the escalating issue of Jew-hatred in the UK.

The incident, described as a violent manifestation of anti-Semitism, has prompted counter-terrorism police to lead the investigation into the arson attack. While the authenticity of an online claim of responsibility is being examined, authorities are searching for three hooded suspects with no arrests made yet.

Mr. Bloom emphasized that the attack targeted a Jewish organization solely based on its Jewish identity, reflecting a concerning trend of importing distant conflicts onto British streets. He underscored the urgent need to address the underlying causes of Jew hatred to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of the Jewish community.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams announced heightened support for Jewish communities in London in response to the attack. The Metropolitan Police will intensify efforts to engage with and protect Jewish neighborhoods, especially as Passover approaches. The police stand united against hate crimes and are committed to safeguarding the well-being of all communities.
