“Long-Lost Son of Bee Gees Legend Finds Family”

Date:

During a recent episode of the Louis Theroux podcast, renowned singer Lulu, 77, made surprising comments about Maurice Gibb. Lulu mentioned that she recently discovered Maurice may have a son from a past relationship. She stated that this revelation came as a surprise to her, suggesting that the child was conceived after a one-night stand Maurice had. Lulu expressed certainty that the son bears a striking resemblance to Maurice, indicating a strong genetic connection.

However, Nick Endacott-Gibb, 57, came forward in 2019 to confirm that Maurice Gibb was his biological father. Nick clarified that he was conceived before Lulu and Maurice began their relationship. Lulu and Maurice’s romance began in 1969 after meeting on Top of the Pops, leading to their marriage later that same year. They later divorced in 1973 after a brief but intense union.

Nick, a resident of Hove, East Sussex, shared details about his early life. Born in April 1968, he pointed out that his conception took place in August 1967, before Lulu and Maurice tied the knot. Reflecting on the timeline of events, Nick questioned the notion of their relationship being described as a whirlwind, considering the years that transpired before their marriage. He expressed curiosity about the circumstances surrounding his conception, particularly given the era of the “summer of love.”

Nick, who was adopted at 18 months from a children’s home in Woolwich, south London, shared his journey of discovery. Growing up in East Sussex with his adoptive family, Nick eventually embarked on a search for his biological parents, guided by the desire to understand his medical history, a quest that led to unexpected revelations.

After connecting with his biological mother, Patti Nolder, Nick initially believed his father to be Chris Andrews, a member of The Fleur de Lys band. However, a subsequent DNA test disproved this theory, leaving Nick puzzled about his true lineage. It was only later revealed by Patti’s sister that Maurice Gibb was, in fact, Nick’s biological father, a revelation that left Nick in disbelief.

Despite Maurice’s passing in 2003, Nick continued his quest for familial connections. Through a DNA database, he established a link with Maurice’s son Adam Gibb in 2019, confirming their half-brother relationship. This discovery led Nick to connect with other Gibb family members, including Lesley Evans and her daughter Debbie, both of whom welcomed Nick into the Gibb family fold.

Nick and Debbie later collaborated on a musical project named Cousins Gibb, recording their rendition of the classic song “Tragedy.” Reflecting on his newfound connections and musical endeavors, Nick expressed gratitude for finally finding his long-lost family, emphasizing the significance of his bond with his newfound relatives.

Looking ahead, Nick is set to reunite with Debbie for the upcoming Best of the Bee Gees tribute act’s UK tour, continuing the legacy of the iconic band. Additionally, he is gearing up for the release of his album in May through Mojosonic, a music partnership with collaborator Karl White. Nick’s journey of self-discovery and musical exploration has been met with support and acknowledgment from the Gibb family, affirming his place within the musical legacy of the Bee Gees.
