Luke Littler has acknowledged that he has yet to engage in a conversation with Gian van Veen following their heated altercation during night nine of the Premier League in Manchester. The clash occurred three weeks ago when Van Veen controversially defeated the two-time world champion, accusing Littler of inappropriate behavior towards the crowd.
Since then, the relationship between the two remains strained. Littler, speaking after a victory on night 12 in Manchester, disclosed that they are still not communicating.
He mentioned, “No, we haven’t spoken, but I’m not inclined to initiate a conversation with him. Maybe he expects me to approach him, but that’s not my style. Even in the practice room, others usually initiate conversation with me first. I don’t engage in idle chatter.”
Littler expressed readiness to settle any differences on the dartboard and indicated that their off-stage interactions have been non-existent, although he believes they will eventually resolve their issues.
Despite facing a hostile reception in Liverpool after securing a victory, Littler stated that it was not as intense as the reception he received in Rotterdam earlier. He emphasized his focus on winning and moving forward from such situations.
Looking ahead, the Premier League is set to resume in Aberdeen next week, where Littler will compete against Josh Rock in the quarter-finals, while Van Veen is scheduled to face Jonny Clayton.
