A social media influencer associated with the MAGA movement and known for creating content supportive of former President Donald Trump on TikTok has been apprehended following an investigation into child abuse materials. Joshua Lee Hefner, aged 34, was taken into custody by authorities in California after a search warrant was executed at a property in Madera County, as confirmed by the local sheriff’s office.
The arrest came after law enforcement received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which alerted them about potential possession of child sexual abuse materials in the area. Following further inquiries, Hefner was identified as the suspect, and electronic devices linked to him were found to contain such illicit materials.
At the time of the investigation, Hefner was working part-time as a cafeteria playground assistant at Dixieland Elementary School within the Madera Unified School District. Detectives apprehended him at the school premises.
Although a preliminary review of the seized devices did not reveal any students from Dixieland Elementary School as victims, the investigation is ongoing, with all electronic devices connected to Hefner confiscated for further scrutiny.
Prior to his arrest, Hefner had amassed a significant following on TikTok under the username @hefner1991, where he frequently shared pro-Trump and MAGA-themed content. Some of his videos had garnered hundreds of thousands of views.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the investigation is continuing and urged individuals with pertinent information or potential victims to come forward and contact the detectives.
