“Man Arrested for Drug Driving During Driving Test”

A 26-year-old man from Wigan, Greater Manchester, was apprehended for drug driving during his driving test when officers in St Helens stopped his vehicle around 5 pm on Sunday due to a malfunctioning brake light. The officers detected a strong cannabis odor while interacting with the driver, who subsequently failed a drugs wipe test and was found with cannabis in his possession. He was taken into police custody on suspicion of drug driving and has been released pending further investigation.

Roads Policing Inspector Simon Wilson emphasized the seriousness of drug driving, highlighting the risks and irresponsibility associated with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. Merseyside Police takes a firm stance against illegal substances and emphasizes that endangering innocent lives by driving while intoxicated is unacceptable, regardless of personal choices to break the law.
