A man has been prohibited from consuming alcohol after assaulting a dog and throwing a flapjack at a police officer’s private area, causing significant discomfort. Kristen Naylor also launched a Pot Noodle at the officer while detained for attacking his father.
During the incident, the 29-year-old assaulted his father, John, who was recuperating at Naylor’s mother’s residence following a surgical procedure. The disagreement began when Naylor returned home in a heavily intoxicated state. Naylor’s father expressed his frustration and attempted to depart with his two dogs, aware of Naylor’s behavior when inebriated.
Subsequently, Naylor confronted his father, demanding the return of one of the dogs. He then initiated physical violence by attempting to grab one of the dog leads and hitting his father with punches. Despite his father’s efforts to seek assistance from a neighbor, Naylor continued to threaten and physically assault him.
Law enforcement was contacted, and an officer, identified as PC Shepherd, intervened. Naylor displayed aggressive behavior during his arrest and transportation to custody. While in custody, Naylor threw a Pot Noodle and a flapjack at the officer, with the flapjack causing immediate pain upon impact.
Following a court hearing, Naylor received a suspended 12-month sentence along with various requirements, including community service, alcohol abstinence, mental health treatment, and payment of prosecution costs. Naylor admitted guilt to charges of assault causing bodily harm, animal cruelty, and assaulting an emergency worker.
