Police are searching for an individual who engaged in lewd behavior while fixating on a young girl aboard a bus. The incident occurred as the girl was returning from Newcastle city center, leaving her deeply shaken.
The teenager had been shopping before boarding the bus, where she noticed the man staring at her. When she realized his inappropriate actions, she raised an alarm in fear.
Despite passengers’ attempts to restrain the man upon the bus’s halt, he managed to escape before law enforcement arrived. Authorities are now urging witnesses to step forward to aid in the investigation.
The victim expressed her distress, revealing that the experience has made her fearful of using public transportation. She described feeling uneasy as the man, appearing to be in his twenties, continuously stared at her on the bus.
Following her confrontation with the man’s indecent conduct, the bus driver intervened, calling for assistance from the police. The teenager recounted her shock and relief that no children were present on the bus during the ordeal.
Northumbria Police received a report of the incident in the Denton Burn area, with the man reportedly exposing himself on bus service 39 before fleeing towards Whickham View.
