A man, identified as Paul Knight, has confessed to the murder of his wife, Isobella Knight, in a fit of anger. Isobella, also known as Izzy, was found strangled in their home in Burton Latimer, Northants. The incident took place on June 13 the previous year while their two daughters were asleep in the house.
Following the murder, Paul Knight sought his mother’s help in looking after their children, citing illness of both him and Izzy. He later attempted suicide unsuccessfully and crashed his car near a McDonald’s parking area. Police officers, responding to the crash, became suspicious of his behavior leading to the discovery of Izzy’s body in their home. A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as neck compression. It was revealed in court that Knight had violently attacked his wife. He is currently in custody awaiting sentencing on January 29.
Detective Chief Inspector Torie Harrison expressed sorrow over the violence against Izzy, a woman with a promising future. He commended Paul Knight for owning up to the crime and sparing Izzy’s family the ordeal of a trial. Izzy’s family described her as a beautiful person with many admirable qualities and a loving mother to her daughters.
Her mother, Helena, emphasized Izzy’s multifaceted personality, highlighting her dedication to her children, artistic talent, and warm-hearted nature. Her father, Tim, remembered her as a shining example of motherhood, promising to keep her memory alive for her children.
