A tragic incident occurred on the A1(M) near Stevenage as a man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while exiting his stalled car on the motorway. The accident took place around 1:20 am on Saturday, prompting a response from the authorities. Despite efforts by paramedics, the man, aged in his 30s, passed away at the scene.
According to Hertfordshire Police, the victim was reportedly getting out of a Honda Civic that had broken down on May 9. The vehicle had halted on a grass verge near a slip road just before the fatal collision. Both drivers involved in the crash remained present to assist the police in their investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward, either through their website or anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers. Detective Sergeant Ben Heath expressed condolences to the man’s family and appealed to witnesses or individuals with dash cam footage to help determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
