“Man Set on Fire in Targeted Attack, Suspect on the Run”

A man was hurried to the hospital following a violent attack where he was set on fire, as per authorities. Police in New South Wales are on the lookout for the individual responsible for igniting a 25-year-old man at an apartment complex in Warrawong on May 11.

Emergency services responded to a unit on Todd Street in Warrawong, located 90km south of Sydney, at 9 pm. They had to forcefully enter the property where they discovered the man with severe burns on his face, chest, neck, and arms. It was revealed that the man had been soaked in a flammable liquid before the incident, resulting in 50% of his body getting burned in the brutal attack.

A medical helicopter team rushed to provide initial treatment at the scene while local residents assisted the paramedics. Subsequently, the man was airlifted to the Royal North Shore Hospital in critical condition.

The hospital has since confirmed that the man’s condition has stabilized to serious. New South Wales Police described the incident as a targeted assault, mentioning frequent police visits to the complex. It was reported that an unidentified person set the man on fire before fleeing the scene.
