After winning a million euros a few years ago in the MyMillion draw, a EuroMillions winner experienced another stroke of luck on his remarriage day to his ex-wife. Two years later, while taking his dog for a walk between the wedding ceremony and reception, he remembered he had his MyMillions ticket in his pocket, according to Isabelle Césari, head of big winners at Française des Jeux (FDJ).
He decided to check the ticket before resuming his wedding festivities and, to his surprise, he had won another million euros. Isabelle shared, “He played EuroMillions, had it checked, and found out he had won another million euros two years later.”
Excited about his double win, the winner and his wife embarked on their honeymoon to Venice. From there, he called to share the news with the lottery officials, exclaiming, “It’s me again, I’ve won again!” Within a span of two years, this fortunate player, lucky in both games and love, had won a total of two million euros.
The MyMillion code offers an additional chance to win for EuroMillions ticket holders automatically entered into the draw. Since February 2004, there have been over 4 billion EuroMillions winners, with 29% of winners based in France and 22% in the United Kingdom.
France and the UK have produced an equal number of jackpot winners, at 132 each, followed closely by Spain with 123 winners. Recently, a lucky Spaniard claimed a massive £56,681,384.00 jackpot.
The EuroMillions record jackpot, totaling €371m (approximately £322m) in 2023, was shared among 90 Italians. Earlier this year, an Irish player won a monumental €250m jackpot (around £217m).
A family syndicate from Ireland, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed their plans to stay grounded despite their significant win. They intend to continue simple routines like having sandwiches for lunch while also fulfilling their dreams of family holidays and travel adventures.
Upon noticing the jackpot win in Ireland, the family verified their ticket and were astounded by their good fortune, emphasizing they couldn’t believe their luck.
