Police in Warrington have initiated an extensive search and are requesting assistance in locating a convicted drug lord who escaped from prison. Daniel Buckley was last seen at HMP Thorn Cross in Appleton over the weekend. Authorities from Cheshire Police are actively investigating leads to find the 37-year-old and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Described as 5′ 10″ tall with a medium build and dark hair, Buckley was dressed in a grey t-shirt, grey jacket, black joggers, Nike sneakers, and was carrying a white shopping bag when he went missing. He has ties to the Manchester area, specifically Failsworth and Openshaw. Buckley received a 16-year and four-month sentence in January 2024 for his involvement in an organized crime syndicate, where he pleaded guilty to various drug-related charges.
Detectives are pursuing multiple leads to locate Buckley and are encouraging individuals with knowledge of his whereabouts to contact authorities. It is advised that if the public sees him or knows his location, they should not approach him but immediately contact Cheshire Police at 999, quoting reference IML-2340086.
