Firefighters fought a massive fire in the early hours of Saturday as flames ripped through the top two levels of a high-rise apartment building in New York City. The four-alarm blaze started shortly after midnight in the Bronx, quickly spreading to multiple units within the 17-story structure, as reported by the New York City Fire Department.
Over 200 firefighters and emergency responders rushed to the location as thick smoke billowed from the building and flames illuminated the night sky. Videos circulating on social media depicted the fire consuming sections of the upper floors, accompanied by large plumes of smoke soaring above the tower.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities stated it was too premature to confirm any injuries. Emergency services continued their presence on-site as teams endeavored to contain the fire and ensure the building’s safety.
